Oakley NASCAR Star Clint Bowyer (33) experienced Oakley's Impact Protection Test - shooting a steel ball at the patented Plutonite(R) lens at 150 ft. per second, 8 inches from the face and dropping a solid metal spike (and optical superiority tests) - for the first time in person in The Rollin' O Lab at the 2011 Daytona 500. Needless to say, he was floored at the cutting edge research and design at Oakley (more than 600 patents on eyewear technology). Clint went on to throw down solid performances in the Nationwide and Sprint Cup races.
